Art2 Workshops: Painting/Photography: Come with us to Cinque Terre & Lucca, Italy, Oct 3—14, 2013
Nurturing Your Creative Self “What art offers is space, a certain breathing room for the spirit.’ John Updike.
Don’t you deserve to savor life for a week or so in beautiful, magical places? Someplace where you can slow down, sample the local wines and food while overlooking the sea? Or stroll along the top of a Renaissance wall surrounding a beautiful old city? With instructors gently guiding you through painting and photography to bring you to a deep connection to the landscape and its spirit?
Then join us next year. We will spend 6 days in the five Ligurian villages of Cinque Terre. These charmingly constructed, stuck-in-time villages cling to the steeply terraced cliffs that form one of Italy’s most spectacular stretches of coast. Then we’ll spend 4 days in Lucca, a beautiful old city with rich history, handsome churches and excellent restaurants. Surrounded by imposing Renaissance walls., it is an essential stopover on any Tuscan tour and a convenient base for exploring the area. (Pisa is just 25 minutes away by train, and Florence is less than 1 1/2 hours.)
This workshop experience has been planned so that you will learn as much as possible but also be able to relax and enjoy these very special places,
Everyone is welcome. The workshop will benefit both advanced painters/photographers and less experienced ones – even rank beginners! Everything we will cover is solid classic art instruction, and each of us will take from it at our own level. You may take as many or as few of the lessons as you like in order to make this a learning holiday to remember.
We’re still working out the details, but we have set up this workshop so you have control over your expenses. The fee for the instruction is $1375 per person; that includes not only instruction from Linda and Mary Ann, experienced artists in two different media, but also travel between the towns and to Lucca, as well as the welcome dinner and the farewell dinner. You can arrange your own lodging, food and other transportation to fit your needs and budget. Lodging ranges from inexpensive B&Bs to apartments with kitchen facilities to fine hotels.
