Artists - painter: Ed Vermehren
Ed Vermehren's paintings use vivid colors to depict the brighter side of life, ranging from serene nature scapes and heroic trees to infrastructural or industrial intrusions on nature. Ed's motivation stems from a dichotomy found in his personal life between nature and industry. His art ranges from serene nature scapes and heroic trees to infrastructural or industrial intrusions on nature. This can be seen in his interpretations of bridges, boats and buildings. In fact, some of his tile reproductions represent a culmination of an industrial mindset as a base for serenity in his paintings.

"Where green space meets water is where my art will flourish. I feel this is also true for community's as a whole. One of the influences on my art is the revitalization of towns and city's along the Hudson. I love the way many of our city's and towns are walkable and keep people out of cars......this builds a scene of community, and encourages small businesses to thrive. Especially with the popularity of the Hudson Valley & Dutchess Rail trails connected by the Walkway over the Hudson which are current themes in my art. "
