Odyssey – 13th Anniversary Juried Paintings Show

Opening Reception and Celebrating 13 Years of RiverWinds Gallery July 9, 5 - 8pm
RiverWinds Gallery at 172 Main Street, Beacon, NY is celebrating its Thirteenth Anniversary with a Juried Paintings Show and an opening reception on Saturday, July 9, from 5-8pm. The show, “Odyssey,” is a visual exploration of a physical, emotional, or spiritual transformation or a life-changing journey by xx leading artists of the Hudson Valley.
This show also marks RiverWinds Gallery’s thirteenth year of showcasing and supporting Hudson Valley Artists, providing a venue of outstanding fine art and unique gifts. Co-owners Virginia Donovan, Mary Ann Glass, Linda T. Hubbard and Galina Krasskova, all artists themselves, have shown over 200 artists including over 110 Featured Artists. The Gallery in Beacon offers traditional fine art paintings and photography plus contemporary crafts including ceramics, jewelry, cards, scarves, and hand-dyed yarn. RiverWinds is the longest running gallery on Main St Beacon.
This month’s show, “Odyssey,” features traditional paintings by artists Rick Gedney, Mara Lehmann, Kevin Palfreyman, and Marlene Wiedenbaum; contemporary works by Virginia Donovan, Olive Farrell, Bridget Herbst, Alexis Lynch, June Julian, Basha Maryanska, Elizabeth Rundquist, and Ilona Wojciechowska; and Abstracts by Diane Christi and Susan Nagel.
Opening Night July 9, 2016, included many of the artists, friends, and family. There were Cupcakes, Virginia's famous dips and Chocolate Banana Bread, fruit, cheese n crackers, punch, wine and bubbly. Linda Hubbard announced her retirement from RiverWinds and introduced Karl LaLonde as a new co-owner of RiverWinds. Beacon's Mayor Randy Casale stopped by to thank Linda for all she has done for Beacon. Past and present BeaconArts presidents - Ricardo Diaz, Sara Pasti and Dan Rigney also joined in their congrations for 13 Years and the positive impact the gallery has had on Main Street Beacon.
