Jamie Williams Grossman is a Signature Member of New York Plein Air Painters and serves on their Advisory Board. She is leader of the 350-member Lower Hudson Valley Chapter. Her awards include Second Place at the Olana Plein Air Event, and her work resides in private collections throughout the United States and Europe. Jamie's paintings have been used in television production series, corporate staging, and private office settings. Her work has been included in numerous publications. She also works with manufacturers of art materials in testing new products to provide feedback.

Jamie's passion is landscape painting, and her preference is to work on location whenever possible. She also loves painting animals, wildlife and pets, and does a lot of commission work on all of these subjects. Her love of experimentation has led to her current large format series, Hudson Valley Hues. In this series of 24x36" paintings, she explores colors that lie in close proximity to one another, which unify each painting, then shift from one painting to the next. All of the paintings are scenes of the Hudson River and its surroundings. The natural changes through the seasons and times of day provided the inspiration for the color journey in this show, Hudson Valley Hues.

Jamie has taught oil and acrylic painting at Olana and Putnam Arts Council. She has studied with many of the finest painters of our time, including Kenn Backhaus, Marc Hanson, Charles Reid, Alvaro Castagnet, Joe Weatherly, David Dunlop, Kim English, Alan Reingold, Rae Smith, Wende Caporale-Greene, and others.

Her paintings are an extension of the way she views the world around us. She is a self-proclaimed color junkie with an addition to painting outdoors. Working from life allows her to gain inspiration directly from the source. Standing in the midst of nature's sights and sounds, and attempting to capture it in paint, is a challenge that never grows old.   She hope those who view her work experience some of the wonder that inspires her....

*Note:  the 24 x 36 paintings have a special price for the duration of the show.  No other discounts can be combined with this offer.
